The conference brought early-career researchers from different disciplines of animal behaviour and cognition together to present and discuss their work. The aim was to encourage MSc and PhD students to participate in and contribute to a stimulating academic discussion about recent developments in their research fields, share information and ideas, discuss current topics and problems, and enable networking.
We had four excellent plenary speakers: PD Dr. Judith Burkart (University of Zurich, Switzerland), Dr. Anna Vargáné Kis (Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Hungary), Dr. Angela Stöger (University of Vienna, Austria) & Dr. Raoul Schwing (University of Veterinary Medicine, Austria)!
The informal and friendly atmosphere at ESCBCs allowed participants to create new connections and get useful feedback from academics outside of their own research group. To make the conference accessible to a wider range of students, participation was free.
